The Moms & Crumbs Story

The Moms & Crumbs Story

From $60,000 in Debt to Building One of Live Selling’s Top Family Businesses

Hi, I’m Cindy—wife, mom of four, full-time entrepreneur, and the founder of Moms & Crumbs.

What started with things from around our house and live shows in my garage has grown into a multi-seven-figure family business, a full warehouse, an incredible team, more than 400,000 orders shipped, over 70,000 five-star reviews, and a community of resellers around the world.

Today, Moms & Crumbs is recognized as a top seller on Whatnot and TikTok Auctions. But this story didn’t begin with a warehouse, a team, or thousands of people watching our shows.

It began with a family that wanted something more—and a mom who needed one last opportunity to work.

We Were Always Entrepreneurs—But We Wanted a Different Life

My husband and I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. For many years, he owned a car repair shop, and we worked together to build that business.

We were grateful for it, but the long hours at the shop didn’t line up with the vision we had for our family. We didn’t want to build a business that required us to miss the very life we were working so hard to provide.

We wanted to be present for our children. We wanted the freedom to attend the important moments, create memories, and build something our family could share. We wanted a business that didn’t only pay the bills, but also gave us ownership of our time.

That desire led me online.

I tried almost everything you can imagine. I sold on eBay. I flipped furniture and clothing. I experimented with different platforms and business models, always searching for something I could grow from home.

Then came Amazon FBA.

The Failure That Forced Me to Rebuild

Our Amazon FBA business failed badly. We lost our savings, accumulated $60,000+ in debt, and were left with boxes of products that wouldn’t sell.

Every time I walked through the garage and saw that inventory, it felt like my failure was staring back at me.

At the same time, I was experiencing postpartum depression and raising four children. I felt emotionally, financially, and physically exhausted. I didn’t want to try another business. Honestly, I didn’t feel like an entrepreneur anymore…or even a good mom.

But our family needed another source of income, and I knew I had to rebuild.

One day, a neighbor was getting rid of a box of Hawaiian party decorations. I listed the items on Facebook Marketplace and sold them for approximately $150.

That one sale reminded me that I still knew how to find value where other people didn’t see it.

I used that money to begin flipping more products. I went to yard sales, estate sales, thrift stores, and anywhere else I could find something worth reselling.

Those early sales grew into thousands of dollars through furniture and clothing—and eventually led me to live selling.

Live Selling Was My Last Shot

When I discovered Whatnot, I immediately saw the opportunity—but I was also terrified.

I was denied as a seller three times before I finally received a referral and was approved. Then I had to face an even bigger fear: going live.

English is my second language. I was already struggling with my confidence, my body, postpartum depression, and the fear of being judged. During my first show, I froze. I cried. I ended the live after only a few minutes and told myself I would never do it again.

But I couldn’t let one difficult show decide what was possible for my family.

I challenged myself to go live every day for 30 days. The shows weren’t perfect. Some days only a few people watched. I stumbled over my words, made mistakes, and learned shipping, listings, technology, and live selling as I went.

But I kept showing up.

That consistency began changing everything. I built confidence, found my community, learned what my buyers wanted, and created shows people began returning to every week.

Within six months, our business had grown enough to help us pay off the $60,000 in debt that once felt impossible to escape.

Live selling was supposed to be my last attempt to make money from home. Instead, it became the foundation of a business that changed our family’s life.

Why Is It Called Moms & Crumbs?

One of the questions people ask me most often is how we chose the name Moms & Crumbs.

The story is simple—and very real.

At the time, I was breastfeeding my youngest child while caring for another little one who was barely two years old. During that season, I always seemed to be covered in crumbs.

My toddler would be walking around with crackers or a snack, and I would be trying to eat whatever I could while feeding the baby. One day, my husband lovingly joked that I was just a mama covered in crumbs. “Mama Crumbs” became my nickname fast. Haha

“@MomsandCrumbs” became my handle, and the name eventually grew into Moms & Crumbs.

It stuck because so many moms understood it immediately. They had been there too—holding a baby, chasing a toddler, finding crumbs everywhere, and trying to build a life in the middle of the beautiful mess.

I love that our name came from such an ordinary, tender season with my children. It reminds me why I started and who this business has always been for.

From Our Garage to a Warehouse

I started by selling things from our home and storing inventory in the garage. As our shows grew, so did the number of orders, packages, mail pickups, racks, boxes, and products moving through our house.

Eventually, our home could no longer contain the business.

Then came the day that almost felt like the end of Moms & Crumbs. Our neighbors reported the business activity, and the city gave us 30 days to clear the garage and shut down operations from our home.

I panicked. I cried. I wondered whether this was a sign that we had taken the business as far as it could go.

Instead, it became the push we needed.

Our community showed up, we sold through the inventory, cleared the garage, and moved into our first warehouse. What felt like a door closing became the doorway to our next level of growth.

Since then, we have continued expanding our warehouse operations, building a team, improving our systems, and growing across multiple live-selling platforms.

That experience taught me one of the biggest lessons of our journey: an obstacle doesn’t always arrive to stop you. Sometimes it arrives to move you.

We Built More Than a Side Hustle

Moms & Crumbs didn’t become successful because everything went smoothly. We made expensive mistakes. We bought bad inventory. We dealt with shipping disasters, returned packages, difficult pallets, exhaustion, fear, and seasons when the growth felt bigger than we could handle.

But every challenge forced us to become better problem-solvers.

What began as one mom trying to help her family has become a real family business—one that has created jobs, served hundreds of thousands of customers, and shown our children what can happen when faith, courage, consistency, and hard work come together.

The greatest thing we built wasn’t a warehouse or a sales number. We built freedom, choices, and a legacy our children can see and be part of.

Now, We’re Helping Other Families Build Their Own

Our mission is bigger than selling products.

We are passionate about helping entrepreneurial moms and families use live commerce to build real businesses from home. We want others to learn from our mistakes, implement the systems that helped us grow, and become even better than we were when we started.

Through our live-selling education, practical resources, reseller inventory, community, and private coaching, we help sellers:

  • Start with what they already have

  • Build confidence on camera

  • Source inventory more wisely

  • Create live shows people want to attend

  • Develop simple shipping and fulfillment systems

  • Grow across Whatnot, TikTok, and other selling platforms

  • Move from side-hustle thinking into real business ownership

  • Build something that supports their family and future

You don’t need to have a warehouse, a perfect setup, or thousands of followers to begin. I started with fear, debt, broken English, four children, and a few things I could find around the house.

You need a reason to begin, the courage to take the first step, and the willingness to keep showing up when it gets messy.

This Is Moms & Crumbs

We believe in people before the sale.

We believe consistency matters more than perfection.

We believe family can be the reason you build—not the thing standing in your way.

We believe obstacles can become opportunities.

And we believe live selling can be more than a side hustle. It can become a real business, a source of freedom, and a legacy for the people you love.

This is our story. Now, we’re here to help you start yours.
